Solving Fraction Problems

Solving Fraction Problems

Today we had maths and my group did a fraction problem. Everyone had fun trying to solve the problem sometimes we got stuck and sometimes it was easy and everyone had participated and enjoyed doing that problem.
Here is the problem and how I solved it.

James is making pineapple pies. He needs 2/3 of a pineapple to make one pineapple pie. How many pies can he make with 12 pineapples?
This is how I worked it out, First I drew 12 pineapples, then I cut them into 3rds and then I shaded 2/3 of each pineapple that could make 12 pies. Then I was left with 12/3 so thought and said I could make some more pies
