Maths Problem:

From Auckland to Waitangi is 229 kilometres. We left Auckland at 9.39 am and arrived at Waitangi at 3.31 pm. Remember we also made three stops before we arrived at Waitangi. How do the stops we made affect the travel time? What is your estimate for the average speed the bus was travelling? If the average speed of the bus is 80 km/h, what time would we have arrived at Waitangi if we didn’t make any stops?

Today we had Maths and for maths we only solved What is your estimate for the average speed the bus was traveling? this was part of the question and it was a bit challenging for me because I didn't quiet under stand it but I got help from Mr Greenwood and I am thankful for that because I would have been stuck on that question but I solved that problem and now I can move on to the next part of the question. I had fun solving this because my group worked as a team and solved it.

Museum denied chance to display Treaty of Waitangi

Maori in Northland are threatening to protest after Archives New Zealand refused to allow the Waitangi Museum to display the original copy of the Treaty of Waitangi on February 6 next year.

I am going to bring this up as a Waitangi issue and if they don't listen I'm going to close I'm going to do my best to close the Waitangi doors to the Crown, Kingi Taurua, a local chief for Waitangi's lower marae Te Tii told the radio station.

Chairman of the Waitangi National Trust Pita Paraone said Archives New Zealand had refused the request because of how fragile the document was.

Kiwi Can

Today we had Kiwi Can with Mr Numia in the hall, our topic is dealing with challenges and our theme is resilience.

First we talked about our topic and theme like what it means then we did our energiser and we played a game called hand circle and that's where your left had goes under the person on your left and the right hand goes over the person on your right and we have to tap the ground once but if you tap twice then you have to go back the other way it was a bit hard but it was okay.

Then we did our activity and we did 2 games the first one was do's it and that's where we follow instructions and listen very carefully like jump in, jump out or look up and look down this game was a easy game because I was like always one of the last 8 standing and we had fun the second game we played was distraction circle where there's groups of 5 one person in the middle and another person in front of them has to do actions and they have to follow them then person on the right has to tell a story to the person in the middle and the person on the left has to ask them questions and the last person has to draw shapes on the person in the middle and they have to try and guess what shape it was.

This game was a bit challenging for me but everyone had so much fun playing and the good part was we got 25 points so we were so happy then we did our goodbye chant to Mr Numia then we lined up and went back to class.

Safe Kids - Posioning

As everyone knows a parent’s very important priority is to keep their child or children safe and secure and help them live to their full potential. Knowing how to prevent child injury, like poisoning, is a step towards this goal that every parent has.

Every day, over 300 children in the United States of America from ages 0-19 are treated in the emergency department, and two children die as a result to poison. It’s not just the cleaning chemicals that is killing infants and older children that is dangerous to children.

Active, curious children will often investigate and sometimes try to eat or drink anything they can get into such as household chemicals and medicines.

Solving Fraction Problems

Solving Fraction Problems

Today we had maths and my group did a fraction problem. Everyone had fun trying to solve the problem sometimes we got stuck and sometimes it was easy and everyone had participated and enjoyed doing that problem.
Here is the problem and how I solved it.

James is making pineapple pies. He needs 2/3 of a pineapple to make one pineapple pie. How many pies can he make with 12 pineapples?
This is how I worked it out, First I drew 12 pineapples, then I cut them into 3rds and then I shaded 2/3 of each pineapple that could make 12 pies. Then I was left with 12/3 so thought and said I could make some more pies

Which Graph Is Better?

Yesterday we had maths the maths we did was called Which graph is better. We Had to ask everyone how many sibling they had when we had asked everyone how many siblings they had we had to pick out of making a bar graph, pie graph or a dot graph the point of this maths was that we wanted to see which graph would clearly show which number of brothers and sisters was the most common in our class.. The graph I picked was a bar graph because I think it could show  the most brothers and sisters. I really enjoyed doing this maths because I learnt which graph could show the most.
