Poetry Recital

Today after fitness room 7 students recited their poems. We have been writing our own poems and also learning it in the past weeks to recite it to the class. After reciting it 6 students will get chossen to recite it to the school in friday assembly.

My Poem is called World War, I chose World War just to resemble what it would be like at war and how it felt to battle.

After saying it I felt a bit shy but a stood up proudly and said it. I am really proud of myself for writing this poem about the war and saying it to the class, I hope everyone enjoyed it because I did.

World War

All the men standing in line
Holding their guns but not with a smile

1,2,3 Boom
The war has started but everyone is tired
A man in his tank using his gun, he see’s an
old man yelling for help

No one can see with dust in the air and when they
turn they scream with fear

The world is scared and not so safe, think before you leave this place,
we see the guards with their guns chasing people climbing gates.

Before they die there cold as ice, they say goodbye with tears of joy
and pray to god for a wonderful time inside this earth.

Hi Mele, well done for your choice of words- by using words like scream and fear we can really understand the pain the soldiers went through. It was also great that you used a simile. Well done for presenting this to the class, it is great to get used to public speaking like this.
